software talks to the lasers, gathers measurement data, and
issues warnings when the lumber is out of spec, according to
customer defined limits
- The main screen is a series of tabbed pages, one for
each scan zone
- It is designed for everyone in the mill to use, not just
QC experts
- All measurements are archived for easy long-term trend
analysis
- Target sizes, control limits, and alarm settings are
password protected
- Alarms are sent to key mill people via an on-site paging
system that shows individual board measurements
