The company was formed in
1991 by Earl Barker, who has worked in the lumber industry for over 30
years. A mechanical engineer by training, he worked at two sawmills
between 1974 and 1979 as a capital projects manager and maintenance
foreman. He then spent 12 years as a research engineer, becoming a
recognized expert in primary breakdown optimization.
The first SizeCheck®
system was built at the request of a good customer in 1998. Since then
our team has installed the system at over 80 sawmills.
